September's UberHobby is a salute to science fiction modeling.

In September, 1902, French film maker Georges Méliès
released the movie "Le Voyage dans la lune," or "A Trip to
the Moon," in a theater in Paris. Silent, black-and-white, and
just 14 minutes long, it was the world’s first science fiction
film.

From starships to robots to cities of the future, model
building has been an integral part of sci-fi film production.
With the popularity of TV shows such as Lost in Space and
Star Trek and movies such as Star Wars, and as science
fiction has become a mainstream favorite, hundreds of sci-fi
modeling kits are available.

This month we are also announcing our first online contest,
sponsored by ModelMakerZ paints and pigments.
Click on the Contest page for details.

Until next month,

Good Modeling!

UberHobby
An online hobby magazine written for scale
modelers by scale modelers.
September 2010.
Greetings! UberHobby is an online hobby magazine written for scale modelers by scale
modelers. Unlike other magazines, UberHobby does not have a staff of professional
writers. Instead our content is provided by you, the members of the scale modeling
community. Within this tome you will find kit reviews, tips and tricks, and articles of
general interest. You will also find information on new product releases, contests and
conventions, and lists of clubs in your area. So have fun and enjoy!
